Should I go with posting info from the crash logs or should I go with Data Recovery?
Where are the crash dump logs stored and where should the thread about this be started?
How do I run a full disk scan without formatting when connected as an external and unaccessible as an external and not formatted?
Please allow me to explain.
Two different hard drives...same exact identical spec's.
My Fiance was playing a game she installed from a game disk we bought at walmart.
First that hard drive in the thread linked below, and now this hard drive.
She was playing the exact same game on that other hard drive too.
( FS, I/O Device Error, Virus, and Malware )
While she was playing the game it went to a memory crash dump.
It won't let me enter Advanced Startup Options through F8
It won't even boot into safe mode.
I used my Lubuntu LiveUSB to see if I can move the personal files to an empty usb.
It let me move family pics, songs, books she has written.
The only difference between the 2 hard drives is I tried to reinstall windows to the one in the other thread, but when this new issue happened...I wrote down the information in the BSOD message.
This time I didn't even try to repartition, i didn't try to change anything.
To me it won't be a duplicate thread, but to others the info will make it look very much like a duplicate thread.
I'm able to recover the data from this hard drive where on the other hard drive, the data was deleted from that one during a clean install attempt.
This time, It's either correction starting with analyzing crash dump reports or Data Recovery.
I'm not able to use the dm crash collector software, but I am able to access the C:\Users directories.
I'm not sure which directories the crash logs are stored.
