Size of folders keep changing each time they are opened.

I can change the size of a folder to be able to view all the icons in it, then close the folder when I am done. Half the time when I reopen a folder it has changed to a different size than what it was when I last opened it. This never happened when I had Windows XP, but now that I have upgraded to Windows 7 Home Premium it does this most of the time. Does anyone have a fix for this problem? It's driving me nuts!!! Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks...

I'm not sure how well this works. But it may be worth a try. Hold down the shift key while sizing the folder with the mouse. It may remember the size on next open. The other possibility is WinSize2 freeware. It remembers window sizes and can resize and position them as soon as they open.

I found a program that has easily solved the problem. It's called "ShellFolderFix" and after I installed it I opened a folder, adjusted the size I wanted it to be, closed the folder and the size stayed as I had wanted. I did this to each folder and when I went back and opened any of these folders they opened exactly as they were when I closed them.

Thanks for the responses to my problem, but I think ShellFolderFix is a quick and simple solution.

It's tough to remember what works in which version of Windows. There are so many changes. I know holding down shift worked in some versions of Windows. But I can't testify exactly which ones.

Glad ShellFolderFix worked. I'll have to try it out myself. WinSize2 takes more setup. But it's good if you like to position a lot of application windows without using and out and out Grid software.
