Hi everyone,

Before we start, I'm a total noob on this subject, so please be gentle with me.

I've experienced 'very' slow boot times in the given time interval (before it took maybe 10 sec, now it takes 2-3 minutes). After login the machine is ready for usage within 30 sec. I've searched on several forums for what the problem could be and these are the steps which I've taken so far:
* performed defragmentation on the harddrive
* deleted all windows updates and reinstalled them
* look at the event logger, but I couldn't find anything causing mayor and/or reoccuring problems
These things didn't work out for me. I've included the machine's specs in my profile, I hope it suffices.

Could you please help me?
Melissa

Hello melli and welcome to Seven Forums.

Have a look through these tutorials (2nd post) for some of the more common ways to speed up Windows 7.

As a suggestion, before you try anything that involves changing settings or going into the registry, etc it would be a good idea to make a new restore point "just in case" something doesn't work and you want to roll back the computer.
