Slow read, copy and paste and no folder refresh

Hi there,

I'm having a random problem with my Windows 7 x64 machine which is concerning me.

Recently, all copy and paste operations (throughout the system, including apps) have become slow, the boot up has become intermittently slow and when I make a new folder, it takes a long time to appear (I have to right click refresh) then when I name a folder I have refresh again to see the change.

Does anyone know what might be causing this?

Hard drive health is 100%. I have the same issue with two separate hard drives. I believe that turning off my network access (internet) has no effect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

- Do you have a antivirus running?
- Schedule a disk check. Open a CMD and type chkdsk c: /f. Schedule to next boot.
- Run a system file check. Open a CMD and type sfc /scannow
