Slow/Weird boot problem

Spec - Asus z97-ar / intel i5 4690k / 16GB / GTX 660 / Crucial mx100 512gb SSD

It takes very slow for my PC to get to the desktop ( about 40 seconds ) and i have no clue what the problem is. Two things usually happen which ill explain below

90 % of the time my pc will start up and the screen will say DisplayPort SIGNAL NOT FOUND and go into the windows logo screen which is quick ( 4-5 seconds ) then it the monitor will say Displayport SIGNAL NOT FOUND the screen goes black for about 30 seconds and then go the password screen and i type my pw in and it goes to desktop.

Now every once in a while i will boot up my pc and i will not get the DisplayPort SIGNAL NOT FOUND message it will just go right into the password login screen quickly but my USB mouse and keyboard freeze. They dont work. I have to wait the 30 seconds and then it works normal and i log into windows.

I dont know what it could be ive tried to reinstall gfx drivers and that did nothing. If anything can help i appreciate it.

The thing is i tried it with DVI-D/HDMI/DisplayPort its all the same. It works perfectly fine its just that when booting up 90% of the time it will say no signal and then eventually it works.

A good test would be to remove the card and try the onboard graphic's vga or dvi connections to see if the same thing happens,

I tried that already and it goes straight into the windows password screen very quickly but then same problem. I cant use my keyboard or mouse ( both are usb connected ) for about 30 seconds and then they work fine afterwards.

Its home built and i built it about a month ago

Just updated all my drivers and still the same , now everything after the my pc boots up is perfectly fine. Is it most likely windows?

Is the machine working better or not ?

Motherboards as sad is it might be never come with updated bios or need to be updated
Contact the manufacture documentation on how to check,

i still have the same problem. i checked my bios and it has the 3rd most recent bios drivers

you think an bios update would fix it? is my problem most likely software or hardware its too hard to tell?

Since the BIOS updates are fixes related to performance then yes I would update to the latest. But this is the most risky thing that can be done if you don't follow the steps precisely. There can be no loss of power during the flashing of the BIOS chip or it may be unrecoverable without shipping back the unit.

Chapter 2 of the Manual deals with the BIOS and how to Update it, so study it closely and ask back for more help if you have any questions: e9472_z97-ar_ug_v2_for_web_only.pdf

This is one of those operations where if the mobo is still within a year of purchase I would use phone tech support to walk me through it so that it's ready for RMA if something goes wrong and it isn't all on you.
