Snipping Tool 4 use in full screen games?

Er.. I came to Windows 7 from XP after having spent very little time with Vista.

This Snipping tool thing seems o.k. if you need to take a screen shot of something on your desktop.. but will it work when you have a game open to full screen?

Hello,

I don't know. Try it and see! If the answer is no, you can always use the PrtScr button. Hit the key and paste into Paint, or a similar image editor.

What I do here in some cases where a game doesn't include a capture option and allows itself to be minimized is hit the prntscrn button and let Faststone Capture grab a screen and snip from the screen grabbed. Or once the games pauses with the snipping tool off on the second monitor I can hit the New button to grab one that way if the game allows for running in a minimized window.

In some cases where a game runs on DOSBox or on a Windows install to a virtual machine and it runs you can grab a snip from the window itself while a game is running. That takes a little work however!

Try starting the snipping tool, hit ESC.

Next start your game when you get to where you want to take a screenshot press CTRL+PrintScreen.

Not sure but that may work.

If the game has the option for screenshots double click on those after you exit the game and take a snip from them in the picture viewer window that comes up. It helps having a second monitor since you can click the cancel button on the snipping tool and drag the popup for that over onto the next screen until going to take another snip.
