ok I have the ISO downloaded...it let me "back-it-up" to 5 discs, tried restoring it, failed miserably... when done downloading, it opens "NTI CD DVD MAKER"...go to do data cd, it says the iso file is too large to copy to disk. Im trying to get file to burn to the disc but keep getting cockblocked...


Any help? And how can I tell what version i need? i.e. 64-bit, 86bit

Hi The download is an ISO disk image and has to be burned as an image.

If your installed burning software cannot handle this type of image you can try the free ImageBurn .....

The Official ImgBurn Website

If you complete your system specs we may be able to check if your hardware is 64bit capable

Ok I tried this earlier, its 3.5 Gigs, at least 5 CDS to wrtie on, wrote on one, but dont know if it continued where it left off, which I think it didnt, how?

Hi Cuzz,

As far as I know there is no way to 'span' any DVD ISO file across multiple CDs. You will need to burn to DVD as it is a DVD Image.

You could also try this tutorial and see if it helps you.

Only way thats possible is by splitting the ISO into 5 pieces small enough to fit on 5 CD's, But why not do it the normal way, with 1 DVD.?

Standard Blank DVD5's can hold 4.35 GB of data. You can buy them from virtually any retailer and they're dirt cheap too :p

If you do not have a DVD burner there is an alternate way to install Windows 7 using a 4gb USB drive.

I'm not sure what this is an update to? :huh: You should post it in the original thread as a reply if you wanted to update it instead.


You can use the free program ImgBurn to burn the ISO to DVD. This guide at their site will help show you how to. Just select the Write Image file to Disk option, and select your ISO file (Soure) and DVD drive (Destination). Next, click on the icon at the bottom to burn.

Got the ISO file to burn to DVD, now how do I open it? I used the program image burn and Im stuck...

The DVD should 'Autorun' when you insert it. You may need open 'Computer' from the start menu & double-click your CD/DVD drive, this will either run the setup file or open the drive so you can run the setup.exe file.

Ok, now we've established what's gone wrong.

You need to run ImgBurn and open up the ISO file, then, burn to DVD. Instead of having a single ISO file on the DVD you will have the contents of the ISO on DVD & it will be bootable.
