Hi everyone, dunow if it wud help much but so far i installed on windows seven ultimate x86 (32-bit):

AVG 8.5
Nero 8
Firefox 3.5.2
MSN + MSGPLUS
Adobe acrobat reader mmm 9 i guess
Microsoft office 2007
Winrar 2007
VLC-0.9.9-win32

everything is working fine except for nero control center it gives an error but still launches and works fine..

Must've got lost Latomba - this thread is for software which doesn't work in 7. There are 2 threads (one each) for free and paid software which does work in 7.

I tried to install Nero burning Rom 7 and it failed 3/4 way thru now I can't get it to uninstall. Any help would be greatly appreciate to get this off ny system Thanks

you need the nero clean tool.

Winflash (the tool you use in RBE, the Radeon users that tweak BIOSes know what I'm talking about) as of ver. 2.0.1.7 is incompatible at driver (atidgllk.sys) level. DO NOT flash Radeons in Win 7 or you expose yourself at the risk of having a void warranty and the proverbial expensive paperweight. Luckily I found this out after recommending the tool to a friend and his 4850 started acting weird (fan, clocks) after the flash. I did warn him about the risks of BIOS flashing before he used it, but still feel I gave him a hand in killing his card

I found that when you install SB S&D on windows 7 there is a bug that BLOCKS the internet. Still testing my theory. I installed SB and then my computer reported Limited or No Connectivity. Has anyone else reported this? I noticed the problem about 2 weeks ago, internet would come on and off on occasions. Tried Linux to assure it wasn't the network card, Installed a second network card, then Reinstalled my computer because I thought i had a virus. reinstalled SB with NO updates and down it went, Uninstalled and now I have internet again. Oh well, going to run without SB for a while and see if i get the same error. Report back in a week. then i will try SB again just to see. Can't live without my SpyBot

Does that happen only if you use the resident bit ? - Teatimer if I remember correctly.

Update: Microsoft finally released a fix for this issue. The update has been released on June 9th. If you experienced problems with IE8 and Spybot's immunization, please download the update "KB969897" via the Windows updates or download your copy directly at Microsoft.

Thanks Guys. I am New to forums, however I couldn't find any other posting matching my problem. However My problem isn't just with IE8 I run Firefox Have not checked if teatimmer caused the problem, however I haven't opened IE since Firefox 1.0 So not sure of the issue you are talking about or if it is even related to my issue. I Get the Little "/!\ This Connection has Limited or no connectivity" warning I have Local network and browser function using in house server, but NOTHING beyond the "default gateway". When I use two routers i can see past the first, only Nothing when it comes to Internet pages. Yes WEIRD.

COMODO CLEANER.

Just had a quick look at this app.

Looks attractive - with an unusual double safety feature.

Ran the reg clean module ( don't recommend people do that - was just curious.)

It found 691 entries to remove.

[ I checked with GUPRO - it found 14 entries - I looked at those and they are all safe ]

Couldn't be bothered checking all 691 Comodo threw up - so removed them , expecting all kinds of trouble - I was right.

Restoring the backup it made sorted it out again.

Curiously, it declared one of the keys it wanted to remove was in use -



The other modules might be ok - haven't examined them closely yet.

If you are using Comodo - definitely don't go near the reg. cleaner.

The website doesnt mention Windows 7 either. I tend to avoid any program unless it mentions Win7.

Corel Uldead Video Studio 11 SE, WinDVD 8 LE, and Burn.Now SE as a combination will completely destroy your 7 install.

I'm not sure which one did it exactly, as they install as a bunch, but they came packaged with my Pioneer Blu Ray DVD drive, and after the install, they completely bricked my machine and I had to wipe the hard drive and reload Windows.

I would suggest everyone avoid any registry related utility until after Windows 7 goes RTM. If you must tinker with it, then you should at least create a restore point on the system drive you have Windows 7 installed on. There are so many registry related tools out there and most of them were written for XP and Vista. Many have not been made ready for Windows 7 yet. Also, keep in mind that the registry works very different in the X64 version of Windows 7.

What about Registry Workshop | TorchSoft?
The web site states that works with Win 7.

Id still shy away from anything that messes with the registry. Only program that has worked for me so far is ccleaner. If you do try it, set a restore point and do some backups first.

I've been using ccleaner for a few years and it didn't occur to me not to use it with W7.
Consequently I've used it, both the windows cleaner and the registry cleaner, on a weekly basis on numerous builds since late 2008.
I've had no problems with it.
