Hello,
I'm currently having trouble with my main computer where I had it cleaned of any malware issues, and took care of various fixes with some other assistance. I am at a place where there are some issues remaining and it seems the only fix is to repair install which I found the tutorial for. Unfortunately I won't be able to do that since I have an SSD as the OS drive and the HDD as primary storage, and with the setup my user files are set to the HDD as a benefit.
I know I would have go with a clean install, and I have backed up my HDD storage drive onto an external for in case it wipes out everything. I'm okay with a fresh start on the SSD since I don't have anything on it besides the OS currently. Plus it was a clone of a smaller SSD, and the drive itself isn't that old.
I have tried to do a startup repair, and even did the chkdsk and sfc /scannow on it but that hasn't fixed the issues that are still lingering. The issue i face is that I'm not able to change my background to an image, and have gone through the steps on what to do and it doesn't fix it. There is one thing that pops up once in awhile on startup and it is something about winload.exe misisng or corrupt. So it was suggest that I do a repair install, but I can't, so I just want to make sure I'm going to do it properly before I screw things up.
