friends, I had purchased my laptop pretty recently with in a month to be exact.

I always had a doubt, after using laptop for long hours such as 10 - 16hrs, do I need to keep the screen open up for it to chill down or can I close the screen ?

I have cooling pad on always, as long laptop is on - cooling pad is also on.

would love some assistance on this regard.

I've found that leaving the screen open doesn't do very much in the way of cooling. Laptops have their vents on the bottom and sides so as long as those vents aren't blocked, any additional cooling up through the keybard, palm rest, etc is minimal. To me, closing the screen when I'm not using the lappy is a safety feature to keep the screen from getting dirty, scratched, etc --- especially if you have other people or pets around the house. Or if you happen to be clumsy like me and knock things over a lot. :)

I always close mine too. Never had a heating problem period with the Toshiba lappy I use.
