Hi Guys,

I was working on a laptop an older version (ESystems Sorrento 1) i thought it only had 1 RAM slot, but it turns out there is another on the reverse side of the motherboard, after some jiggling i mangaed to get the RAM seated, it was a bit of a task lol now when i put the laptop together and test, some of the keys (mainly x/m/enter and a few others at the bottom) are not working, every other one works.

I thought if the cable was damaged none would work, has anyone come accross this? i tried uninstalling / re-installing drivers but no luck (I didn't think it would be that easy lol) is there anything obvious i could try?

What i did do was to unstick some metallic tape holding the ribbons down, but there is no damafge there that i can see, plus that is only for conductivity.

Thanks for any help guys

Welcome to the forum. The keys are in groups so a loose cable may only effect one group reseat the cable
