I installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 64bit on an ASUS X50IJ laptop.
Some of the function keys for volume and WiFi (F2, F10, F11, F12, etc) don't work at all while screen brightness keys do.

I cannot seem to get them to work no matter what I do, I would appreciate any help, thank you :)

EDIT:
The official ASUS support/drivers download page DOES list 3 utilities related to function keys. NONE of them work. I had to install utility that WAS NOT listed - "ATKACPI driver and hotkey-related utilities" from here: https://www.asus.com/support/Download/3/480/0/4/36/

Is there an FN key on the Laptop? If so, does holding it down have any effect? I have a Toshiba Laptop. It has a hardware setting program that reverses the FN key action. If I do not press FN key the F1 to F12 keys work normally. None of the volume brightness etc. keys work unless I hold it down. I reversed it because I like it better that way. But it sounds like your system has it mixed up where some command keys work and some do not.

One standard Jedi Support Trick you can try is open Device Manager. Expand the keyboard device until you can see the driver for it. Right click and click Remove or Uninstall. Reboot. When it comes back up Windows will reinstall the very same driver. For some reason this seems to work about 1/2 the time. Sometimes it will "stay fixed" and sometimes it may work for a few months until whatever happened happens again. :)
