Solved Some updates won't install Error Code: 8024200D

Hi

I have several updates(currently 3 but it was 5 last time I tried) that fail.
They seem to download alright, but on installation the progress bar takes a few leaps
to the end, and it's all fails. I stopped updating for a week or so, and today, I was able
to successfully apply 14 out of the 17 updates that were available. So now it's just these
3 for some reason.

Those are:

Important updates
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based System(KB3040272)
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based System(KB3065979)
Optional
Update for Windows 7 for x64-based System(KB3064209)


Here's the info:

• OS is Windows 7 Home premium(64bit)
• The error code I am given is: 8024200D
• I have downloaded and run the SURT tool.
• I have also several times run the sfc /scannow cmd.
• I repeatedly tried to update at every stage, with no luck.
• The CBS.zip is attached.

Running the automatic troubleshooter from the microsoft site reports the following
as a Windows update error and says it couldn't fix it:

InformationalError Report
RootCause: RC_DataStore
ErrorCode: 0x800F081F

As you can see, the error code there is a different one than the one I get directly from
the failed Windows update.

Any help/suggestions much appreciated.

I searched for the updates in question online, and downloaded and installed them manually. I then checked for new updates(after a reboot), and windows update successfully downloaded and installed all by itself. It seems my troubles are a thing of yesterday. Hooray! Still though, I don't get why this happened in the first place ... oh well.
