On every boot, reboot, a window pops up saying, "Preparing to install" and quickly disappears. It doesn't say what it is. I'm wondering how I can find out this out. My assumption is that it is a driver and not software

You could check Device Manager and see if their are anything that stands out.

Do you have things plugged into usb ports when booting?
Remove everything except mouse and keyboard and see what happens.

I would also check for drivers with anything Logitech.
Sometimes Windows 7 and Logitech just don't get along.

You could also check Windows Updates and see if they offer and drivers or driver updates.

Start - run - msconfig - diagnostic start-up - much like safe mode. Check start up options - full scan w/malwarebytes is not a bad idea.
