Hi Friends,

I am writing for my friend. He is using a Sony Viao E series laptop(64bit windows 7 O.S).From the very frist day onwards it troubled him. Most of time when the laptop reboots, it ask for recovery.Sometimes when we start, after booting we have to wait hours for getting the login prompt. We have taken the laptop to service centre. But at that it works well.So normally they will also think, the system is normal.

Suppose this time it asked for recovery and we have recovered it.For that whole day it may work well. But next day problem will again happen.

What may be the problem?.I suspect it as a problem of software conflict. If we update the windows, whether problems like this can arise?.

Can somebody help on this?

Thanks in advance..

Hi arunmangalam,

Have you attempted a System Restore yet? If not, would you like me to provide you with instructions on how to do this?

Thanks,
Harvey Meale

Hello Harvey,

Thanks for your reply.
Actually most when we restart, it will ask of system recovery.I think it is reverting back to some earlier restore points. But not sure.

I am thinking of a fresh installation using my recovery cd's.
Will that be a good idea?
Can you guide me to do the same?

Thanks in advance
Mangalam

Hi arunmangalam,

A fresh installation would, ultimately, be the best thing, but if you don't want to do it, it probably isn't necessary. Would you like instructions on how to reinstall Windows or would you like to give System Restore a go?

Thanks,
Harvey Meale

Hello Harvey,

I would prefer for a fresh installation. Can u please guide me through the steps to reinstall the O.S using the recovery disks which I had created in the beginning.

@RODNEY:I had already done a memory check. It was fine. But I couldnt check the harddisk as there was no option in the BIOS.How else can I check the H/D?

Thnks in advance
