Right click on the Recording Tab to Show Disabled Devices.
Highlight Microphone, select Properties to enable the device.

If the Microphone has a red icon by it, unplug it.
If you have installed the software from Realtek, VIA, etc, then plugging in the device should cause a
detection pop-up to appear. Click OK to confirm the device. It should be ready to use.

thank you man p5bdkw.

i found a way to solve that. since i can not see any devices at all under the recording tab, so there is no way to right click anything.

what i did was, i went to the manufacturers website for support. i downloaded the audio drivers, then installed it right after the download.

and then, bingo! all the audio devices went back to where they used to be.

again, thank you dude for the reply.

I know this is late in the game, but just in case someone else runs accross this. . .
I had the same issue and another option is to right click your speakers, which will also give you the option of 'show disabled devices'. Once you click on that selection, your internal microphone will be displayed.
