X-Fi Xteme Music, 7 drivers from creative site. Only problem is songbird volume dipping while playing games. Windows 7 issue for sure, probably a fix somewhere on here, too lazy to find it.

Xonar DX

I picked up one of the Asus Xonar DX and I'm pretty pleased so far.

Used the 64bit Vista drivers (had to install in compatibility mode) but everything seems good.

It even let's me run my system with the memory hole enabled, which my X-Fi card disallowed.

Update: The latest Asus Xonar drivers for Win 7 work perfectly however...for the drivers to work properly with the newer versions of Win7 "7200 and up" you will need to install the patch from the Xonar driver Vista 64 page in the Asus driver download section. It's right at the top of the page.

The patch description doesn't say anything about this fix but it works perfectly none the less.

If you don't install the patch you will see that IE locks up and most of the control panel is non operational.

It's best to install both the Win7 Asus Xonar drivers and the Vista patch before rebooting. The patch only takes one second to install. :sarc:

I'll add the Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 using the existing Vista drivers. All related software eg: Alchemy, and X-Fi control panel works as intended.

You know I am having the same exact problem BUT only for games and for anything like movie dvds if I play back through WMP. But WMP is crap so I usually use Media Player Classic and then it all works great.

I am thinking it is the Creative beta drivers. I hope that they release an updated version soon.

EMU 1820m and 1820 work with latest Vista drivers v2.1.

Had just one little problem with the sw mixer and standby.

At wake up it would freeze the card.

I made two entries in scheduled tasks, one to exit the sw mixer just before going to standby, and one to start it after wake up.

Works perfectly now.

Creative X-Fi Extreme Gamer works on Ultimate x64 with the Win 7 driver installed from the Creative support site, version 2,18.0003 I think. I also installed their new version of Console Launcher to support changing between Game and Entertainment modes.

Creative Audigy 2 ZS works on Ultimate x64, again with drivers downloaded from Creative site.

Neither card worked with vanilla install and no Windows Update drivers were offered.

Anybody help with this one?

I am running a machine based around an Asus P5B board, and am using an Audigy 4 sound card. I have disabled the onboard Realtek sound in the BIOS.

My problem is that i cannot get the mic to work properly. It works, however the recording is so choppy/stuttery that it is unusable. The line in seems to work fine though, as I feed my PS3 into this and it works no bother.

I tried the bog standard driver that Windows Update installs, and also the latest one from the Creative site (SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0011), but it made no difference.

A quick google would suggest that this issue also was apparent with the Audigy 4 in Vista, however so far I haven't found a fix, if indeed there is one.

Anybody offer any help at all?
