Hello,

I have a Windows 7 Asus P8Z77-V PC, with 12GB RAM that has two graphics card. My primary card is a AMD Radeon HD 7800 series and a AMD Radeon HD 6450.

Now, the sounds or music that play on my computer would randomly cut off every couple of minutes. I am using HDMI to connect the graphics card 7800 to my Vizio HDTV. I can't really determine the cause of the fading music.

I don't really know how else to phrase this but the 0's are the music playing and the blank spaces in between are what cuts it off:

0000000000000000 0000000000000000000000000000000000000 00000000000000

and so forth. I am also using an RCA Home Theatre System RTD209 that's connected on a splitter using the AUX cable and that's also connected to the back of the TV. I also figured out that both TV and the Speaker systems were both experiencing this problem. I thought it was just my HTS. But I have a hunch that it has something to do with my video card drivers. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

I hope I made some sense. Any questions will be answered to help clarify things. Thanks again.

I don't know how dual video cards would work with the HDMI audio. If both video cards have HDMI audio enabled, maybe one is conflicting. If both do have HDMI audio and both are enabled, disable the HDMI audio for the 6450 in the Device Manager and see if that makes any difference.

Although Windows will only allow one default sound playback device, again I don't know what the two video cards would do or cause.

Sorry for the late reply. It didn't seem to make a difference. It could just be the drivers or something. I'll try to find an upgrade for it and if I don't find anything, I'll report back here. But thanks again!

This is even more weirder. Turns out that when I play PC games like the Sims 3, Resident Evil 6, Battlefield, etc., the sound is fine and does not cut off. Only when I play movies/music on VLC, Windows Media Player, and a couple of emulators.

I don't know where to begin... Thanks again! I hope someone could lend me a hand with this.

Since it happens with videos, and you are connecting HDMI, it has to be something to do with the Video card.
