sound driver on aspire 1690

hello,

i post here cause I have a little problem, I installed 7 few weeks ago on my aspire 1690 and I've no sound...

the sound device is a ac-link... i've tried every driver I found on the net... without any success...

some topic that i read... but don t solve my problem :

If I can't find you one, I'll make you one to install.

Right click it in the device manager. Properties. Details tab. Change dropdown to hardware ids. Copy and paste results to a new post. I'll see what I can do.

I made this for you from a driver for different hardware, from Microsoft's catalog.

Extract my link to a folder. Then go to device manager. Right click the audio device. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse.

Now navigate to the folder you extracted and double click on Alcxau6.inf. Hit ok. Hit next, and it will install.

Save the rar file for future installs, should you need.

it seems to install properly but after it say the device can t start (code 10), i am gonna restart the PC but i don t think it s gonna change something.

ok i am on ubuntu and that (hardinfo) tells me my sound card is a Intel ICH6 with "Cx20468-31" Sound Card... so it isn t a conexant ?..

I don t understand anything anymore xD...

go here : VIA Drivers Download - VIA Technologies, Inc.
then chose windows => vista => audio => VIA AC97 any => download vinyl v7b

unzip it "Then go to device manager. Right click the audio device. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse" (by torrentg)

& it works !!

So far I can only found drivers for XP and I highly doubt they will work..

Do you gave a CD that came with it with Vista Drivers on it?

ok it isn t solved cause i got blue screen when this drivers is on => i must restart windows 7 in safe mod to disable the driver & reinstalled it after a classic boot...

the blue screen tell me "NMI : memory parity error" in hardware malfunction...

If you have future driver issues check with the manufacturer of the hardware or check with the Windows compatibility center: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx.

I am not sure where you checked initially but I am glad the problem has been resolved! :D

Which driver file do you pick? i have four and all of them say "access denied" after driver update :(
