Sound has gone weird

I am using M-Audio Delta Audiophile soundcard. Recently my sound has become defective. Stereo sound is audible but mono sound has vanished. This means the left and right channel are being added together in antiphase. This problem is the same for my music in WAV, You Tube sound in MP3, video sound, etc. What has happened?

Try an uninstall/reinstall of the M-Audio. Go to the Device Manager, Sound Section. Right click on the entry for the M-Audio sound and then Left click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall any drivers.

Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the M-Audio.

(I have a Sonar Recording Studio).

Five USB connected optical drives for CD Audio production using Nero BurningROM
I did that and it uninstalled it and reinstalled it, but the problem remains

This fault turned out to be merely the earth wire on my phones was broken!
