Sound laggin/jittering running cubase

all i have is the built sound card and when im runnin cubase and try to play a lot of sounds at once the sound jitters and lags.

this is just because of my sound card right??? or is it? my first guess anyway.

I dont think its a ram issue, i have 3g installed.

can anyone suggest a good sound card or at least a site to but from?

I have a Sonar (X1) studio.

The built in sound card is not really very good for recording. Best suggestion, other than PC hardware limitations is to have a separate recording hardware interface.
