Hi there,

I'm using my onboard sound with an updated RealTek driver. Right now, there is only sound coming out of 2 speakers. I read the stickied Realtek HD thread, I don't know if the HD part applies to me, but I have Logitech 5.1 Z-5500 speakers. I've set my audio settings to 5.1 system. I just want sound coming out of all my speakers.

I tried doing what the sticky thread about Realtek, but I couldn't find the last folder. I attached a pic.

Thanks.

The test worked on every speaker and the sub. I'm playing MP3's through WMP12 and it's only coming out of the front speakers. The 2 in the rear are silent.

I have onboard Realtek ac'97 sound and 2.1 speakers. When I upgraded to win 7 ultimate I only got sound out of one speaker. Even if I plugged in earphones the sound still only played on the right speaker. I then put a soundcard in my pc and got C-media audio drivers and the sound was fixed.

Usually the simplest answer is the correct answer... In Realtek HD Audio Manager, under speakers tab, under Speaker Configuration tab, put a tick on Speaker Fill, then restart the player. Problem solved. :)

Not really because that isn't true surround sound. I have the same problem and can't find a fix anywhere.

Edit: Something that works better than speaker fill, but still not a 100% fix.

Open the Realtek audio manager and double click the jack for the rear speakers and make them front speakers. You want to do this with the centre speaker too if you have it.

capturelyy.png

You won't be getting true surround sound, just 2.1 copied to the other speakers but that doesn't matter unless you're watching an HD movie or something.

Note that speaker fill only emulates surround sound - like other solutions it is not true surround. The only way that this can be achieved is if the original source is encoded as surround sound (5.1, 7.1, etc).
