Hello, I was surfing the net when I decided to log into Netflix and watch Breaking Bad, as the episode started I was quick to notice that there was no sound coming out of the video, I went over to youtube to check if there was something wrong with my headphones, and there wasn't as the video ran flawlessly with audio coming out as per usual. I went over to Netflix's troubleshooting page and it indicated me to delete the "is" folder:

C:\Users\ [USER] \AppData\LocalLow\Microsoft\Silverlight

I did as suggested but to my surprise there were not only audio problems with netlfix, now it was everyhting else, browsers, applications, everything, I've been searching for a solution for this problem but to no avail, tried re-installing Silverlight but just couldn't, ended up using the windows audio troubleshooter several times, with no success, so I've given up the search and came here for help.

My headphones work just fine, I've been listening to music on my mp3 since then, with no problem whatsoever.

Any help would be appretiated and I'd like to thank you in advance for responding.

FIXED

In control panel's sound section, in the playback tab, there's two devices listed, speakers and headphones, speakers were disconnected andheadphones were marked as preferred, I plugged in my actual headphoned and the "speakers" changed to connected, I checked it out and that was the source of the problem.

Thanks for replying and trying to help, everyone, really helpful you lot!
