Hi,

To get optimal music playback quality, I have connected an external USB DAC to my laptop, DELL XPS 16 running Windows 7 64 bit. From the DAC an analogue signal in to my HiFi amplifier. I have also connected my plasma screen with HDMI through my home movie amplifier.

When playing music with "Music Player" and ASIO4ALL I want the sound to go to the USB DAC but when I see a movie I want the sound to go to my home movie amplifier through the HDMI connection. How to I achieve this. It seems that I have to choose one or the other but I want both, preferably without having to do any reconfiguration in-between but if that doesn't work with as little as possible of tweaking in-between.

Hopefully someone knows this. I would be greatful.

Regards,
Dan (in Sweden)

Normally, you can have either, but not both. I don't know of any software that will allow you to do this. Have you tried doing a google search?

Go to Playback Devices (from the speaker icon in the systray) and change the Default device as needed. But you can only have one.
