Solved span icons over two monitors?

Never had two monitors but a friend gave me his old one so I thought I'd see if it was useful to have two set up. It worked right from plugging in, which was great. I set it to Expand, so I would have a larger desktop, rather than just repeating what I already have. But how can I move some of my Desktop Icons to the other screen? There are some icons I use all the time and some I use less frequently, and I would like things to be a little less cluttered. All I can find by googling is people complaining that their icons are on the wrong screen. But I want them on both screens. Dragging doesn't work, it just drops them at the edge of the main screen. So I guess I wanna know, is it even possible? Would be nice to have the taskbar on both screens as well. I see that can be done in Windows 10, but is it also possible in 7?
Thanks!

Right-click on a blank area of either screen, and choose View. Make sure Auto Arrange Icons is off. You may also need to turn off Align Icons to Grid.

I have three monitors on my work computer, and although the icons move around a bit on the monitor I put them on, they do stay on that monitor.

Oh that's so weird. I already have Auto-Arrange turned off and Align to Grid turned on and moving icons over always bounced them back to the main screen. But I turned off Align to Grid and was able to move one icon over and it stayed. Then I turned Align to Grid back on and moved another icon and it stayed. So that's weird, but also fantastic that I am now able to do this. Thank you very much for your assistance!
