Speaker comes on and off

Hello, Pls guyz, i have an HP pavilion dv6, and my speaker doesnt work.Sometimes it twiches on,like when you click a button or open a folder it sounds and stops, or when you start an application, it works but immediately you close the application it goes off again. But now it doesnt even work at all. Plz if there is anything you can help me with, I will most appreciate it.

Well, just from what I see I can give you the following suggestions:

It could be a loose/defective wire.

You may have to reinstall the sound drivers. From what you are saying about the apps, this is the most likely solution.

If you are using a sound card, it could be either the sound card failing, or you may have to re-seat it to insure it's connecting properly.

Hope this helps some in narrowing it down.
