After moving the PC into another room for a month I've moved back into my office but I'm getting no sound from the speakers. I've followed the steps in other posts and see a message that "Speakers are not plugged in". I've checked

1) the connections are ok
2) the speakers are on - I can hear slight hum
3) the sound drivers are up to date
4) the integrated audio is ON in the BIOS

Could anyone please help me get my sound back? Thanks in advance.

First step, make sure you have the speakers plugged into the GREEN speaker jack. If you accidentally plugged into a wrong jack this can happen.

Great thanks! In scrabbling under the desk I had connected to the wrong connection! It's all working now. Thanks for your help. It's much appreciated.:D
