Speakers Not Working

That's fine, as long as you did it from the direct Realtek link

I take it your green LED is lit when the power is ON and the volume dial has been moved towards the plus sign.
You may want to test your speakers with another PC, MP3 player, etc.

Do you get sound when you plug your headphones into the Logitech headphone jack?

No thats the thing there is no LED light on the speaker control.. There use to be before they stopped working and it doesn't come back on even when I replug, change on/off etc. Could that be a sign that the speakers are f ed

Go to the standard format tab, as shown below, and select "16bit, 44100KHz". Did it work? If so, try "16bits, 48000KHz". If it works, keep changing the format until you get no sound. When this happens, simply select the final format in which there was noise.

I have some what made some progress I think one of the cables was just a tiny bit loose because now it is supposedly on and the green LED light is on, however I just recently retried plugging them into my front headphone jack and they worked but when I plugged in to rear audio jacks I get a sound but no sound is produced. So what could be the problem with the jacks

Maybe continuity problem which is caused by the rupture of the internal wires... is difficult to be precise without testing the continuity of cables.

How about disabling your sound effects? Right-click on Speakers and Properties and go to the Enhancements tab then check the "Disable all sound effects" checkbox. These sound effects can sometimes impair or distort your audio output.
