So, I'm at a loss. I've tried everything I know how to do. Couple of things -

My speakers sound like they are deep underwater. I can't listen to anything. I've changed all the settings I know how, including checking to make sure all sound effects are off, and it doesn't budge. I'm not sure what's going on. It's really bad - to the point I can't even make out words. Help?

Check with a headset to determine if its a problem in the PC or a problem with the speakers.

It's the speakers. I've already used that method - PC is fine.

Sounds like something got corrupted possibly in the sound card driver(s) or otherwise. I would try completely uninstalling the sound card from windows; reboot; then let windows re-detect the card and reinstall the drivers for it and hopefully that will fix the issue. If not; post back and we can take it from there.

Also have a pretty bad speaker setup which is a klipsch promedia 5.1 surround speaker setup with huge subwoofer and lg blu ray player/writer. Also a hp officejet pro 8600 plus wireless all in one and a logitech s7500 webcam.
This might sound stupid, but make sure they're not underwater.
