Speed up time it takes to "close" taskbar thumbnail preview window?

Is there any way to speed up the time it takes to close the preview window? By default, it takes about 1.5 seconds for the window to close after moving the mouse off of the icon or preview pane. Can we make it instantaneous?

NOTE: Turning off taskbar animations in the "visual effects" does not shorten the time. It just takes away the animation, but, it still takes about 1.5 seconds for the preview to go away.

It takes less than a second for me. it could just be you. Try testing this on another W7 PC and see what happens. On my previous laptop it took two seconds for the preview thumbnail to disappear.

Mine also takes just under a second. So far, I have seen no way to change the close time for thumbnails. There are delay time settings, and notification display time setting, but none to shorten the time it takes for the preview thumbnail to close after mouse hover is removed. It will be an issue of hardware as well as drivers, but should always be a relatively short duration. A Guy

Yea, admittedly, I was exaggerating. It probably takes something like 750 milliseconds on both of my desktops, both of which should be more than capable of dismissing the thumbnail instantaneously.

Though I know I am a bit of a control freak, I think this really does make me less efficient. When I'm going at full bore and I have dozens of open documents and need to zip around my working environment, I--time and again--find that this delay is slowing me down. I try to ignore it, but it genuinely affects me.

Maybe it's time I check out win8.
