Speeding up fly-out menus

I have the icons for Computer, Control Panel etc set to fly out sub-menus on hover. But it is painfully slow - sometimes 2-3 seconds. How can I speed that up? Registry setting somewhere?

Do you mean on objectdock? If so then mine is slow as hell aswell but that might be because of my hardware.

That works - mostly. Long submenus (Control panel) are still slow even with delay down to 75ms. But it is a definite improvement.

You're welcome Roger. Yeah, those real long ones will still take a moment longer usually.

Curiously, the documents fly-out, which is even longer, is very crisp. Maybe a subroutine optimizes it.

You might also check to make sure that the "fade or slide out menus into view" visual effect settings are unchecked as well. Having it checked can cause a slight delay as well.
