Spell check doesn't seem to work

Recently when I'm typing something online like a message here, spell check doesn't work like it used to. It still works in a Word document. Any idea what caused this and how to get it working again? I'm using Chrome.

Just learned how to see if spell check is on in Chrome. Just right click in the box you are typing in, point to Spellcheck, look at the line, "Check the spelling of text fields." It should have a check mark next to it. If not, click it to turn on spell check.
