SSD Problem - Keep losing storage space & failing.

Alright, thanks for the help. I'll leave it until I finish my first year of University in just over a month and when I get home. However, I will keep checking here for comments to any other solutions. I think I may just find somewhere to stick all my data from the F & G drives and then reinstall both the SSD and the HDD.

Reinstall should solve all your issues other than the dynamic drive issue.

BUT, if you DO reinstall, make sure you only have 1 drive connected and make sure that the SSD is shown as "disk 0" not "disk 1" in Disk Management. You'd do that simply by connecting the SSD to the same port on the motherboard to which the non-SSD is currently connected. Just a cable swap, like swapping the plug-in point on 2 lamps where they plug into your wall.

Press the ALT and PrntScrn keys at the same time, this will capture only the active window to use in Paint or your preferred graphics editor.


You may also upload a photo or image you already have on your PC, as you would a file, without using the Snipping tool.

DISK0 is an old OS installation that has renamed the 100mb System REserved partition and C partition then converted to Dynamic, which is only meant to span a partition across multiple HD's. I would back up your data immediately to run Option One here which is the non-destructive method to Convert a Dynamic Disk to a Basic Disk.

But since DISK0 did not have its OS installation deleted correctly by deleting its partitions, there may still be boot files hidden on it and almost certainly has boot code since it wasn't wiped clean. So if you want to get it cleanest I'd move the data off and wipe it with Diskpart Clean Command then repartition using Partition Wizard to Create Logical Partitions - Video Help .

Logical partitions are best for data since having a Primary partition preceding the Win7 System Active boot partition can result in the boot files being derailed during a Repair or Reinstall. If you want to keep the Primary partitions after converting from Dynamic you can swap the cables between DIsks 0 and 1 to have the SSD in DISK0 position. Just make sure it remains set first drive to boot in BIOS setup Boot order.

Once you have this sorted run a few Win7 Startup Repairs to see if it finds anything to repair, report back the results and how its performing.
