StarCraft II - Midnight Release

I bought the game yesterday after work, i love it. The campaign is pretty sweet, it has the rts missions.. but also kind of a mass effect 2 feel where you go to the bridge, look at maps, go to worlds, talk to people.. watch news, buy upgrades and stuff. Its rather cool how they did it, you only need the disk to install, dont need it in 24/7 which i like.

As far as the constant online connection goes, im not %100 certain. I read somewhere (believe someones post on another site) that they did that to reduce piracy. It doesnt effect me, considering if my computers on, im connected. I like how even if on campaign, you can talk to your friends in your list or have a party. They exceeded my expectations for the campaign. Definatly worth buying

With the online requirement piece and piracy....it's nice because I can load a copy of the game to my desktop and also to my laptop. With signing on, only 1 computer can be used at any one time...but it doesn't completely dictate that I have to be sitting in my basement on my desktop PC.

So what would make the haters happy? A much smaller game with only a few missions per race? A release that includes 90 missions, 30 for each race, with the quality of the missions we're seeing here? This is only the Terran part of the story, but you'll be able to play as the Protoss for a few missions, which does a good job of giving you some variety. We're not even addressing the full multiplayer portion of the game, nor the updated Battle.net which makes game modifications and organized play easy to find and fun to play. This is an ambitious game, and Blizzard was up to the challenge; StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty is a huge, expansive release.

Even though I'm not getting the game, not into Star Craft, It sounds like a good lengthy game. And from some of the posts I’ve seen over at rage3d people really like the single player portion. Overall it sounds like a fun game.

For those of you playing Star Craft II with ATI cards.... ATI released a 10.7a Beta Catalyst driver which provides support for Anti-Aliasing through the Catalyst Control Center for Starcraft II.

I broke down and downloaded it ysterday. 6.99 GB, took about 3 hours. It installed in about 15 minutes, and looks and plays great on my middle-aged pc (see my specs). It "feels" alot like the original, but looks so much better!
