Umm, I just posted a thread about this exact same thing. Its not 7 cropping the screen making the game look half and have black borders around it. It means that Starcraft is not meant to be played on a widescreen resolution so 7 makes the game played on its original resolution, 4:3 resolution. I personally HATE stretched resolutions, and I love how 7 does this. If you would like the game to be full screen, you'd have to go to your graphics card control panel and look around there.

If your new laptop has a video card, go to Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound and you should see NVIDIA Control panel if yours were to be NVIDIA. If its ATI, I'm sure it would be in the same place. If your laptop does not have a video card and its just intel intergrated graphics, I'm not sure where you go to. I guess it would be in the same place too?

K then, I only use NVidia so I guess the ATI control panel isnt there... I dont know, maybe go to Start and on the little search bar type in ATI and see if any results show ATI control panel or settings or configurations/options?
