This is out of control, I have been trying to setup a Windows 7 system to my liking and every time I am able to put out a fire, 3 or 4 more pop up to deal with

I followed the following tutorial below which works great, my default folder icons are now custom in Windows Explorer and my Open and Save As windows.
Folder Icon - Change Windows 7 Default Folder Icon - Windows 7 Help Forums

When I go into my "Start Menu - All Programs" the custom folder icons appear here, but the one at the top "Accessories" has the original Windows 7 stock default folder icon. Then if I select a different folder from the list, that folders icon becomes the stock folder and Accessories folder changes to custom icon.
Is there another regedit setting needed to customize the folder icons for items selected in the Start Menu - All Programs as well? @Brink, if you are out there, please beam down here to planet Earth and help this mere undeveloped human, please :D

Don't think it has anything to do with it, but I have been testing some settings out, disabling services, features, regedits, etc. but this seems like I am just missing more more regedit to cover this issue.

Thank You for any help offered

EDIT
Also just noticed that the default folder icons stay default when the folders are expanded, so if you expand more than one, each one will stay the default icon, and only revert back to the custom folder icon when collapsed.

Whoa! you extraterrestrials are quick!
Man, I was hoping it would have just been an extra regedit that would fix this, I am so burnt out with all the issues I have been running into, I don't know if I am up for this Resource Hacker method at the moment, I am not sure my brain can take much more.
All jokes aside, thank you so much for your quick response, I really appreciate this.
Again so much great material on this forum, it is amazing.

If you or anyone else has any more tricks up your sleeve for something like this, please let me know.
Oh, wait a minute from the looks of your thumbnail, you are not wearing a shirt :)

Thank You

I suppose you could use some 3rd party theme software to help make the changes easier.

Ahhh, kind of tedious solution, but if you customize each folder in the "All Programs" section by going into their properties, once customized the Windows 7 default stock folder icon issue does not occur.

EDIT
I thought this was just happening in, the Start Menu - All Programs, but it happens everywhere....
Windows Explorer
Open Window
Save As Window
Start Menu - All Programs

Thank you for your response again, I will search around and see if I can find a simple piece of 3rd party software that maybe is designed to achieve this.

I have no use for live folders, etc. I hope I can find something simple that will just allow me to set one default folder icon that can cover them all.

@Brink
I understand what you mean at trying to find a 3rd party "theme" software.
Yeah, no luck at finding a 3rd party piece of software specifically to change default folder icons, which makes sense if the method required to fix something like this is a program like "Resource Hacker".

I think I can mess with my default folders enough to make them look good for the most part using your tutorial.
If not I might actual give the "Resource Hacker" method a try, just a little scary and hoped to not have to dive so deep, just to solve this.

Crazy that something simple like this would require the OS itself to be "hacked".
Wish they just gave a simple option to replace all folders with a default icon, eliminating all the other live / open / etc. ones.

Anyways, Thank You again for your help.

You're most welcome. Please let us know how it went if you do use Resource Hacker.
