OK so I have an HP pavilion about two years old. When I tried to log in today, it froze on the login screen, so I manually turned the computer off. When I rebooted it, I said 'start computer normally' it went to the windows loading screen and then after two second it said loading files with a white bar at the bottom of a black screen. Then it goes to this whitish back ground page with like waves or streaks in the back ground. I don't know if I've seen this page before but then it does nothing. Nothing pops up nothing loads. I waited five minutes then restarted the computer again and tried to load in safe mode. I get to the same white screen and nothing happens. I try start up repair, safe thing. I hit f2 and did a quick check of the hard drive. It passed. I'm halfway through the run in test but everything looks good so far. So my question is what should I do now? Was I being too impatient on those white screens? Was something happening even though nothing had popped up? Do I need to wait longer? Please help thanks?
