Hello,
I am in quite a dilemma with my current computer. I have recently purchased a new computer chassis which I transferred all my components to with no new additions.
On startup I was being sent to the Marvell Adapter 98xx which I had never encountered when my components were in my original case. The adapter was saying:
Virtual Drives: None Detected!
Physical Drives: Patriot Inferno SSD (which already has windows installed on it)
Western Digital HDD
It would then proceed to another black screen saying please select proper boot device etc etc.
I have since tried all the different SATA configurations, IDE, AHCI, and RAID. I tried all of these with the Marvell Adapter both on and off. I have tried all of the modes with both drives in each combination possible (SSD in 6Gb port/HDD in 3Gb port , SSD in 3Gb port/HDD in 6Gb port, SSD & HDD in 3Gb port, and the original SSD & HDD in 6Gb port)
I have reset the CMOS in a hope that It may resolve the issue, I have also pressed F8 (boot menu) and selected the SSD directly for startup considering it has windows installed on it.
Originally when the issue started I was able to enter the Marvell adapter and I created a virtual drive with both of my drives. This still resulted in me being sent to the "Please select proper boot device screen" and so I deleted that virtual drive.
In conclusion I have run out of ideas and I am stumped as to what I should do (as I have found similar scenarios in the forums but none quite as complex or exactly the same as mine). The motherboard I am using is the Asus Sabertooth X58 I cannot get past the "select proper boot device" screen at all and If any1 has any clue as to why my computer is having a s**t fit please pleassssse help me out.
Thanks so much for any replies, Drew.
