Hi everyone hoping you can help me out.
I have just formatted an old IDE drive connected to my computer - and when i restarted I recieved an error: "Boot MGR is missing" press CTRL ALT DEL to restart.
Obviously i forgot that when i installed Windows XP around 6 months ago that the boot manager was on the drive i just formatted and therefore have deleted the boot manager.
Consequently i cannot boot into my newly installed windows 7 or windows XP.
My next move was to put my windows 7 disk in the drive and use the repair utility. However my problem lies when i come to the menu: "Select an operating system that you want to repair" - I have neither windows XP or windows 7 available to select i.e. there are no options. Despite this, when use the option "if your operating system isn't listed, click load drivers" - all of my hard drives are then listed.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
p.s i tried the XP recovery utility also - but when i select which the system to repair - it asks for an administrators password - which it keeps claiming is incorrect when i enter it but i swear it not. weird.
Thanks
