Steve Jobs has died.

I don't think a million people cried, maybe his family - but they'd probably done most of the crying during the earlier years of his prolonged death.

I'd thought all along he was using the best technology to keep himself alive long enough to finish his work, and he did some fantastic work toward the end.

There is something deeply sad yet profoundly noble about this, and I think it moved people around the world who'd been paying attention to the man on stage who was dying, then finally went home to die.

A real tribute to his work was seen walking around the Fenway in Boston this fall as the students returned, seeing little other than Apples, IPads and IPhones. I wondered if he knew this.

A man dies, so you post an image of starving children to belittle his death. That is truly disgusting.

Not to belittle his death no. The Picture posted is a reflection of societys values today. A third of the worlds population is starving,another third underfed yet we see/hear nothing of this. yet when high profile peoples so much as stub a toe, that's tomorrows headlines. Now that is truly disgusting.

Not to personalize this, but I understand your sentiment on how noble it was for him to continue doing what he was doing till his dying day. My father passed away from cancer almost 3 years ago. He was 54. He owned a business and had employees. He spent a year fighting cancer and at the same time getting everything settled with his business and his family. He sold his boat and tools, finished fixing differnt things that only he could fix, and organized his business and paperwork. He continued to put in contract bids to keep his employees in jobs till he knew he couldn't. Made plans for everything from his will to plot to his car title... He spent his last month in a hospital surrounded by the ones he loved and then he passed. His duty in this world as a father, husband, brother, friend was immense. He woke every day at 5am and worked till sunset. He did everything for us that he needed to without a moments notice. I had already seen what he did in this world when he was well, but seeing him work that hard even when he knew he was going to die was stunning It was a show of character I had never seen before.

I apologize for personalizing/hijacking this thread. I just needed to get that off my chest. I guess I just relate to what his family is going through right now. And I know a lot of people saw a world with Steve and now they see the world without Steve.
