Hi everyone,

I thought that I may have had a virus so I scanned malwarebytes etc. The system would take 20 minutes+ to load. This in now about 10 minutes to load.

The virus removed a few bits and was dealt with in another thread. I have now been getting the following error/bsod:

STOP 0x0000007A: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

What can I do to fix this? I have attached the screenshot, is my Dell Studio 1555 a lost cause?

Even the short test failed within 12 seconds. :(

You need to get a new Hard Disc. If this one is within warranty, claim for a replacement. Otherwise buy a new one. Try to back up any data that is necessary.

No mate. It is the HDD only. Look ... I have told you to do only one thing and it came out to be faulty. What does it mean?

Right, In terms of restore/backup. I have a mirror image of the system and a full back up of all my files that was done a few months back on a seperate hardrive. Is this enough to restore the system, software etc onto a new hardrive?

Should I do another backup/ mirror image now with the current system, or could this be corrupted or damaged at all?

Also any recommendations of a new hardrive for a Dell Studio 1555?

Thanks for all your help!
