I have been an idiot today, I spend half the day yesterday creating an introduction in front of my green screen so I can key myself out and include it in an introduction I am making

Today I started my editing and I had some junk on my desktop so I deleted them, but like an idiot, my videos were in those I deleted, I have tried to recover them ( its only been half hour since I emptied the recycle bin ), and this is not the first time I have done this either

Is anyone aware of any type program that I can download to stop me doing this accidentally

I was hoping for something were it locks certain extensions, for example .jpg .png .mov etc and in order to delete them I have to confirm by doing something like entering a password..

or if anyone has any other ideas I would love to hear them, thanks

The safeguard is already in place, by having files go to the Recycled Bin first, before being actually deleted. I used to turn off the Recycle Bin years ago, so I would just delete things immediately, but learned my lesson. Leaving it set to the default should be enough for anyone.

Or you could try and not delete things...you know? Or remove the "Delete" key from your keyboard so you have to right-click and delete...Or stop and think before you delete stuff...Just saying....

OK. This may work if you have system protection turned on.

Go to desktop in your User folder. Right click and select Properties. Go to the Previous Versions tab and let it populate (it may take some time). With a bit of luck you will find a version before you deleted which you can restore from.

If that doesn't work. Download Recuva (the link is in my signature) and scan for video files. You may be lucky if they have not been overwritten.
