Solved Deleting files in Windows Explorer Search

Probably a stupid question, but just wanted to make double sure!


I just found out that I have 20,000+ files and folders in my Search folder in Windows Explorer.


i don't need these, so I was about to delete them, and then I had a sinking feeling that unlike shortcuts, this might actually delete the files from their original home.


Is it ok to delete these files and folders in the Search folder?

PS: Anywhere else I can delete files from manually to speed up the PC? I don't want to use any auto tools or cleaners. I want to know exactly was is deleted. (I removed temp files already, thanks)

Don't delete anything.
The files and folders aren't shortcuts. They are a direct link to the files and folders.

To clean up your computer use Disk Cleanup (%windir%\system32\cleanmgr.exe) or install and run CCleaner (CCleaner)
Under CCleaner un set all options under Options - settings.

What's the Search folder? Would that be MyUserName>Searches>Everywhere ?
