Stop one single driver installing...

G'day

I have a Dell badged logitech wireless keyboard and mouse with the logitech setpoint software...

Someone has sent me (I suspect uSoft) a driver update for the bluetooth subsystem, it tries to install a USB 3.0 driver for my bluetooth usb device but fails. My bluetooth device is not 3.x ready, so I just get a yellow shriek, and of course this breaks my wireless keyboard and mouse (which uses a bespoke logitech BT dongle)

If I roll back the driver everything is hunky dory. But every so oftern, PnP kicks in and wants to reinstall the driver. (Which I know will break my bluetooth stack again.) so I click on no.. but it's starting to become annoying and I'm not the only one that uses this pc..

If I let it install, then delete the device, and check the "delete driver" it will find the old driver, but then a while later we go back windows wanting to install the "new" 3.0 driver, and tbh, I've no idea where it's stashed this driver for "pending"...

I know you can switch of auto driver installation on a global basis, but that will stop driver installation if I plug something into the USB and Network USB ports I have... so just want to stop this particular driver.

Logitech and uSoft are playing the blame game, so no help there...

Any thoughts?

BTW, Win7x64 ultimate retail (not oem), Loads of RAM and Diskspace and iQuadCore CPU

Can you not uninstall the uSoft app from Programs and Features?

If you can't... do a System Restore to a couple of few days before you installed the bluetooth subsystem.

Thanks for the Suggestion, If I had any idear of which update it was, I would. I've had a couple of stabs and not improved the problem.
I see from another thread that there is a similar problem so wonder if there is a relation. System restore is would be more trouble than it's worth as I've had to install a new suite of software which needed quite a bit of setting up.
