I have had this particular desktop PC for 4/5 years now.Recently I got a virus and although I tracked it down I could not get rid of its registery entry in the Run once key.I formatted the C drive and reinstalled Windows 7.Now everytime I install a game ( One that worked perfectly before ) I incounter graphics problems. As an example I installed Civilization 4 complete,Order of battle WW II,Chessmaster 10th edition and a couple of others. All of these games worked before I reinstalled Windows but now they all give me various error messages ( all to do with graphics ) For instance, Wrong screen resoulotion,Render problems,Graphics drivers outdated,Direct X 9.0 not installed, when it is etc etc etc.
Surley the virus cant still be on C drive after a format and reinstall ?!

Viruses can certainly, in some circumnstances, survive reformats (by copying themselves into some backup you may have, into a secondary drive or even by infecting the BIOS or some firmware), but I don't think that's the case here.

The most likely cause is that you have some driver problem. Either an outdated or incorrect driver inappropriate for the hardware or OS version. Look for the newest updated drivers at the manufacturer's page.

I thought myself that it must be a graphics problem but as I stated in my post.I am using the same setup that I have used for the last 4/5 years and as this setup is 4/5 years old, there are no new drivers aviable.I used the same Windows 7 instilation disk that I always use and the same BIOS driver install DVD as I always do.So, I know it must be a graphics problem but I havent a clue what to do or where to look.It is certainly a very strange problem.
Hope someone can come up with an answer.
