I've been using WinMend for about six months. It was running and minimized. Hid a folder and was starting to maximize the program to close it out when I get a notice that CNET wants to install a program on my system. I use FF and it was not running.
I'm guessing CNET and Winmend.com are "partners" ??
Immediately uninstalled WinMend including all registry entries.
Any one else have a similar experience ?

never seen that before with winmend, could it be a coincidence that you happened to be using winmend at the same time it happened. did you download winmend from cnet.
if so download it directly from here.
No. It was downloaded from winmend.com. I stopped using CNET many moons ago.
How does CNET get access to my computer when I'm not on their site or even running FF ?
The only program running was WinMend.
Very strange indeed.
