Built a new rig a few weeks ago.

Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3-B3
Intel Core i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz
8GB G. Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 2133

The CPU has been tested stable at this speed for 38 hours in Prime95. Six hours in Linpack. C1E and EIST are enabled.

Until a few days ago, S3 Sleep generally worked fine. Suddenly, I've run into a strange problem that's causing sleep to be essentially non-functional.

When I attempt to wake my PC from sleep, the fans and hard drive begin to spin up. After spinning for less than a second, they shut off. The computer sits idle for a few seconds, then begins a cold boot.

I have no idea what could be wrong.

Hi,

I can only offer you some general debugging advice.

- make sure your BIOS is up-to-date

- make sure all Windows updates are installed

- make sure your graphics card driver is up-to-date

- check your Event Viewer (Start -> enter Event Viewer in the text box), and go through the Criticals, Errors and Warnings. Many times, they will give you useful information about what is going on inside

Hope this helps!
