Strange Taskbar icons

Each time I have booted in today, the Taskbar icons look like this.

They seem to be instances of Notepad and WLM that were open during the previous session, closed before shutdown , then reappear like this on reboot.

WLM and FF icons that were pinned to Taskbar are gone and need to be repinned - Faststone capture seems to OK.





Anybody else getting this?

Something ended up in the startup folder by the looks of that! Have you tried copying a shortcut for FF off of the Start>Programs and pinning it to the taskbar?

WLM is simply added to the favorites bar here and not even on the taskbar so I can't help you with that one. Instead WM is pinned since I managed to get that going.

Thanks for the reply, yes that's exactly what I did - they repin ok.

I used Glary reg cleaner to find the entries for the duff shortcuts and remove them. They have stopped appearing now of course.

That will do it. The new entries were autoloading on you. I bet you are relieved at seeing things back the way they should be.
