1- Took ownership(via R click) and renamed these three files in
C>windows>system32
MP4SDECD.DLL
MP43DECD.DLL
MPG4DECD.DLL

2- Install ffdshow and ffdshow64 if u are running 64-bit version.

3- Then when you try to open an avi movies with a srt file you may notice that doesn´t have sound. You open the Audio decoder configuration of ffdshow and on the option Mixer (the last of the list) select Connect to: DIRECT SOUND. Aply and close. Close the movie and then if you open again your movie have sound.

What version of Windows 7 Beta is this in? I've been unable to get FFDShow audio to work right with AVIs in Media Center on build 7057. I keep getting scrambled audio.

Best solution so far for subtitles in Windows 7 Media Center x64

The subtitles works for me to in Media Center and I have the same sound problem in Media Player, but is not a problem because I use just Media Center with the remote control. The sound work even without to select DirectSound in the mixer.
Thank you for advice, you are great. :D

Ok, Now I can see subtitles but I've got problem with dual audio avi (in direct sound mode). Both channels sound at same time... what can I do to select the channel that I like?

Thanks

My other problem is that all this changes are for the PC, but I'm using a xbox360 like extender, and in 360 I continued watching all like original config... without subtitles and with the principal audio channel...

hi! i got win 7 home premium and it's 64 bit as mentioned here. i found that .dll files and rename them something else. i got ffdshow installed. and i have no movement(on screen) when i open .avi on media center! (voila!) i can hear voices but no vision on screen . complete blank (black) . i figured out that cause is to rename those 3 .dll files because when i re-rename their original names everything goes back what they were before; vision returns but again with no subtitles!!!. i gave my hours to solve this subtitle problem and i m very dizzy now :) is there anyone can suggest what should i do?
