Sudden video glitches, blue screen freeze

OK this just started a couple of days ago and it's definitely getting worse.

I started noticing it when playing videos through Mediaplayer. There would be full screen graphics glitches that would just flash for a moment. Then it started full freezing (blue screen one monitor 1, green screen on monitor 2...not sold colors). I'm using a 2 monitor set up.

I also had a glitch where my cursor would get about 3x as big and there would be random horitonzal and vertical bars of pixels attached to it. It only happened on monitor 1...when I'd move the cursor over to monitor 2 it would turn into a normal cursor.

Now its happening a lot. It looks like my system continues to run even after the screen turns blue. I had a Skype call and it kept ringing even after the glitch occurs. I have to turn the system off and back on, but the "freeze" looks like its just a permanent graphics glitch until restart.

So it started through Mediaplayer when playing movies...now it occurs all the time - but mostly when switching windows, not usually when the system is idle.

I didnt do anything to my system. No hardware changing, or anything...it just started happening out of nowhere.

I'm on an i7 980 with an ASUS motherboard...6 GB of DDR3 ram and 2 Radeon 5050 video cards. I've got a 24" LED monitor and a 22" LCD monitor for my setup. The glitch occurs on both monitors

I found out that i can make it happen anytime I want...if i open a link in a new window in firefox...the glitch occurs every time. as soon as the window starts to open, there's a flash of the glitched video covering the window. It also happens when I open a Skype window. It doesnt just occur in the window im opening, it occurs across both of my monitors. Pretty much anytime I open a new window in anything - it causes the glitch. And sometimes it freezes the system entirely

First, do the following:

HOW TO FILL OUT YOUR SYSTEM SPECS

In the line at the top of www.SevenForums.com you will see UserCP.
That is an abbreviation for User Control Panel.
Click on UserCP.
In the left-hand column, under Your Profile you will see Edit System Spec.
Click on Edit System Spec
You can copy and paste from the output of Speccy, Speccy - System Information - Free Download to fill out much of the info. Be sure to use the Other Info section of your System Specs for such info as your optical drive, your wireless adapter, your speakers, etc.


When you say blue screen, is it the blue screen of death (with error messages) or just a blank blue screen.

Have you updated your video and audio drivers?
